Our Story

Stand-To is a reminder

Origins

Stand-To didn’t begin as a brand.

It began with loss.

My sister, Brenda Dawn Ayala, had a way of leaving her mark on the people around her. When we lost her, it changed the way I looked at the people in my life and at myself. In the conversations we avoid. At the things people carry quietly. At how easy it is to look completely fine while fighting something nobody else can see.

I also started thinking about the communities I had spent my life around.

Service members. Veterans. First responders. People accustomed to being the one others depend on.

We’re good at showing up when there’s a mission.

We’re not always as good at showing up for each other when there isn’t one.

Stand-To grew out of that realization.

Not as another mental health slogan. Not as a place where every conversation has to be heavy. And not because I have all the answers.

It exists because sometimes people need a reason to get together. A tee time. A conversation. A podcast. A shared experience. Sometimes they just need somebody willing to say, “Walk with me.”

Stand-To is what we’re building around that idea.

You don’t have to wait until someone is falling apart to stand beside them.

WHAT STAND-TO MEANS

In military tradition, stand to is a moment of readiness, when everyone rises, becomes present and stands together at dawn. It is a commitment to be alert, accountable and not alone.

We carry that meaning forward beyond service into life.

WHEN THE STRUCTURE DISAPPEARS

When service ends, so does the daily sense of belonging. The mission fades. The team scatters.

For many veterans and for others navigating hard seasons of life, that loss can create silence, isolation, and a feeling of drifting without purpose.

Stand-To exists to interrupt that silence.

This is not about glorifying the past

It’s about choosing to stay.

Choosing to move forward.

Choosing connection over isolation.

WALKING TOGETHER

Through conversation, golf, time outdoors, shared experiences, and quiet moments of presence, we create space to breathe, reconnect, and keep moving forward.

We don’t gather to escape life.

We gather so no one has to face it alone.

“The Path”

KEEP WALKING

Stand-To isn’t a destination.

It’s a decision to keep showing up for yourself and for the people beside you.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANYONE TO WALK WITH, WALK WITH ME.
